WebJun 14, 2011 · The .357 is not known as a caliber normally hot-rodded and such loads are always a bad idea except in cases of say, 45 Colts in a Ruger. So I have to not be too worried about the average guy doing this. Again, I don't recommend loads nor do I recommend doing what I do, but I personally would shoot the shixt out of it with full power .357's. If you shoot a bunch of the them, like several 1000s, at some point you might get a little frame stretch (0.002" or so), just as you would with a S&W L frame, but it's easily corrected by shims or stretching the yoke to match (a $20 tool and 5 mins time).

However, unless you shoot a thousand 125 gr. magnum loads through your gun a year, I would not worry. Occasional use of lighter bullets won't hurt your gun.
