VA) If it is an inexpensive rug, I suppose I would cut a slit, but otherwise, I would try to situate the rug differently, buy a smaller rug, or refrain from using the outlet. I suspect it would also depend on the material of the rug. Some rugs could begin to fray if cut. Please help me with a 5'4"x5'4" hole in our family room.
